Detox Coconut Oil Bath
While there are tons of ways to detox, one of easiest and most relaxing is by taking a detox bath. The best part – it’s simple to create in your home. It’s like turning your bathroom into a high-end spa at a fraction of the price.
Coconut oil is one of the most nourishing oils you can use for your skin. It’s also especially healing to those suffering from dry, itchy skin. And if you add a few drops of your favorite essential oil to that skin soothing coconut oil you’ve got a nice relaxing mix that gives your skin a boost.
Here’s a recipe for Coconut Oil Bath Melts:
1 Cup Coconut Karma Organic Coconut Oil
15 Drops of Essential Oils (Lavender is a great relaxing oil)
Ice Cube Trays
Heat the coconut oil on low heat for 1-2 minutes or until the coconut oil is completely melted.
Remove from heat and add in your favorite essential oil
Mix well and pour the melted coconut oil into your ice cube trays
Let the coconut oil bath melts cool. You can place them in the fridge to cool quicker.
Once cooled, pop the melts out of the tray and store them in a container in a cool place.
Detox Coconut Oil Body Scrub
The skin is the body’s largest organ, so it’s important to be mindful of what you put on it. Coconut oil is a nutritional powerhouse that nourishes and protects the entire body. It contains medium-chain triglycerides (MCTs), antibacterial, antiviral and anti-fungal properties.
Here’s a great recipe for a Coconut Oil Body Scrub:
Ingredients (makes 2 cups)
¾ cups of coconut oil
2 cups salt/sugar scrubbers – 1 cup unscented Epson salt, ½ cup unrefined sea salt, and ½ organic raw sugar
10 drops of your favorite essential oil
2 tablespoons raw honey
Set the coconut oil in a warm area where it can melt naturally, or you can heat it on the stove for a few minutes or until it melts.
Add honey and mix.
Add essential oil drops and mix. Test to see if the smell is strong enough for your liking.
Transfer to a non-metal container with a lid, and enjoy.
